Trip to the shore

Posted: under Family, Life, Trips.

We have made plans to head to the Gulf Coast as soon as it is warm enough and get in some sand and sunshine, two things we really are lacking here in Nashville. We have a couple of places on Percy Priest Lake that have some sand but it is not the same thing. In addition we would like to take our 6 year old grandson the see the ocean he loves sharks and everything else in the ocean and I think he would love a trip to see it.

Sis is gettin old

Posted: under Family, Life.

My baby sister is getting older as we speak, today she turns 46 and it is driving her crazy. She has always though of herself as the baby of the family and aging is not a thing that she wants to do. I laugh as I turned 50 this year and that plateau was a tough one for me to endure. I hope the last part of my life goes as well as the first half. I plan to live long enough to be a burden on everyone I know. Well anyway Happy Birthday sis I hope you have a great day.

Circus time

Posted: under Entertainment, Family, Local.

Soon the elephants will be walking through downtown Nashville, when the circus comes to town this month they always walk the animals from the Gulch to their temporary home at the Sommet Center. I take my grandson to go watch the elephants walk by it is so very amazing how large and beautiful they really are up close. David has been to the circus several times and he really likes the animals, he is not a huge fan of the other stuff going on but if it has elephants in it count him in.

Ham or Turkey

Posted: under Family, Food and Dining, Holidays.

We have the problem every year of which to have on what holiday, ham or turkey. We try to have one Thanksgiving and the other at Christmas. I am not a huge fan of turkey but once a year is ok with me. I grew up having ham or roast beef on holidays so the turkey thing is pretty new to me, but I can adapt when needed. We had turkey at Thanksgiving so bring on the ham for Christmas dinner I can hardly wait.

Car wreck

Posted: under Cars and Trucks, Family, Life.

Sunday morning my daughter wrecked her car while at work and I spent the bulk of my Sunday sitting in the Emergency Room with her. I think she destroyed her car and will be out of work for a while, since she needs her car to do her delivery job. I am very glad that my Grandson was not with her, he was at home and that was a good thing.

I just talked to her and she is sore but is going to be ok in a few days. People are hurt in car accidents every day and I am very glad that I have been very lucky and not involved in any accident for a long time, I drive safely and watch where I am going and I avoid red cars as much as I can. Of course my daughters car was red.
