I have one jumpy dog and it is because of all the fireworks that have been set off the last few days. Diva is a good dog she just hates fireworks and thunder, well you can add motorcycles to that growing list too. Anything that is loud or a strange sound sets her off and she is a bit jumpy and the loud noises set her off extra. I will be very glad when the fireworks and the thunder season is over maybe I can get some rest then. It is a lot quieter in the winter around here, then they set off fireworks for New Years Eve and that is a bad day for Diva too.

We have the problem every year of which to have on what holiday, ham or turkey. We try to have one Thanksgiving and the other at Christmas. I am not a huge fan of turkey but once a year is ok with me. I grew up having ham or roast beef on holidays so the turkey thing is pretty new to me, but I can adapt when needed. We had turkey at Thanksgiving so bring on the ham for Christmas dinner I can hardly wait.

Tomorrow is a very special day for me and many others in America. Veterans day is a holiday that does not get a lot of attention, at least here in Nashville we have a nice little parade. I remember as a child we would have a huge parade for Veterans Day but I guess life gets in the way for many people now days. I will be taking off from work to go attend the parade and I will show my support the best I can to the veterans and to the troops serving now, they need us behind them and our full support as they protect us and our country. I love the troops and the honor they bestow upon our great country.

This labor day unlike many before I will be doing nothing, I have no plans what so ever. My biggest desire today is to lie on the couch and watch my dogs. Not even do I have plans to turn the TV on, I want it quiet and  no guests me and the dogs is good enough for me. I have to work tonight so at some point I will need a nap but I do not want my nap to disturb my lying on the couch resting, if I wake up enough I will head to the bed for a nap. No good nap was ever taken on a couch with 5 dogs we need as much room as we can get to really enjoy a nap right.

The part I have loved the most about the 4th of July holiday is the fire works. When I was little the small town I grew up in did not have a fire works display so we had to make our own. We bought every piece of fire works that we could pool our money and afford and made a grand show out of the little we had, but thinking back it was some of the best times of my childhood. Now we go to the lake and sit on the grass and watch the great show put on by the water park. They have a huge show downtown but the parking is terrible and we choose to stay closer to home and watch the show.
