Bailout

Posted: under Life, Money matters, Rant.

As a very unsuccessful small business owner, I am waiting for my bailout from the government. I am a lot more qualified than some of the banks and insurance companies that they are bailing out. I pledge to keep all the money I am given in my bailout in the local economy, none of my bail out money will go to a foreign company, every penny will stay right here at home like it belongs. I am not holding my breath until I get this bail out but I am very hopeful that I will get this money and be able to spend it on parties like the insurance company did. Come on Obama I am next in line.

Price of gas drops again

Posted: under Cars and Trucks, Life, Money matters.

Today the price of a barrel of crude oil dropped to $47 it has not been this low in many years and I hope the pump price of gasoline keeps falling too. It is now at a level where I can make some extra money and not have to pay an arm and a leg to fill up my gas tank. I filled up the Tahoe and it only cost me $30 a few weeks ago it was very close to $100 every time I filled it up and that about drove me to drink. I was not going to drink gasoline either. Let us hope it stays down under $2.00 a gallon and I can get ahead for a change.

Low prices

Posted: under Cars and Trucks, Life, Money matters.

In spots around Nashville the price of gasoline is under $2.00 a gallon, if you had said a month ago that the price of gasoline would drop that much and as fast as it has dropped I would of called you crazy and at that time I would of been right too. I paid $2.24 last night for gasoline in Franklin and that seemed cheap to me until I noticed on Gas Buddy that the price was under $2.00 in a couple of places. I checked in Oklahoma City who are normally a month ahead of us in price and it is $1.91 there, let us hope it gets that low here soon, that will help the gasoline budget for this rest of this year.

Gasoline finally

Posted: under Cars and Trucks, Local, Money matters.

After being unable to locate any gasoline to buy for almost a week, the gasoline flow has finally caught up to Nashville Tennessee. The price is also starting to drop after being above $4.00 a gallon for several weeks it has now dropped down to around $3.50 a gallon. Who would of thought that we would celebrate gasoline at $3.50 a gallon? All around us have had gasoline when we were in a terrible shortage and now the price in Birmingham Alabama is under $3.00 a gallon, we can only hope that the price here will drop to something close to that very soon.

False alarm

Posted: under Cars and Trucks, Money matters.

I check a web site everyday that gives the prices of all the stations around the city of Nashville, and man was I shocked to see one close to me with their price at $2.79 a gallon over a dollar less than the rest of the gasoline stations in the area. I grabbed a couple of dogs and headed out the door to see if it was true. Of course when I got there it was $3.79 a gallon. We went back home disappointed and dismayed, I was ready to fill up on cheap gas but no can do. I can hold out till it goes down a few more cents a gallon.
